Kaleidoscope Thinker, Rex Urwin — Mindset Mentor & Managing Director of Mind Matters — on Your Unlimited Self & the Power of Imagining.
Rex Urwin is the Managing Director of Mind Matters and a Practitioner and Master Trainer of Neuro Linguistics. He describes himself as a mindset mentor for business owners, leaders and entrepreneurs who are striving for success in all areas of life. Rex has a Bachelor of Behavioural Science and Psychology from Griffith University, and a number of certifications in different fields including: Kinesiology, Eriksonian Hypnosis and Energetic Medicine.
It was fitting to have Rex as a guest on the podcast, as he is a unique, dynamic individual, and someone who truly lives his passion, embodying the Arete philosophy of filling one’s full potential. Some of his fascinating work includes teaching high performance mindset strategies, problem solving think tanks, career change and motivation and co-designing the futures of people and companies. Rex has worked with prominent organisations and companies such as Telstra, Australia Post, Queensland Rail and Flight Centre, to name a few.
Rex’s path is full of rich and interesting experiences, which inspired his passion for people and his work. Born in New Zealand, his childhood by the sea was filled with “a lot of sailing and rugby,” but was also problematic. Rex’s youth was often challenging but never lacked adventure, from running away and living on the streets in his teens, to relocating to the “circus filled playground” of Kings Cross in Sydney, to living the “hippie culture” in Nimbin; Rex believes the human being is self created and his early experiences motivated his interest in psychology, and shaped the beginning of his valuable work.
Rex shares his veracious appetite for life, and passion for his work, with his life partner and fellow Director of Mind Matters, Catherine Connolly. Catherine is an Author, Speaker and specialist leader in mentorship. Rex and Catherine live in Brisbane but endorse their own work-life balance ideology — travelling and spending time in Italy whenever they can.
