- Interim external reporting mandate supporting a world-first rehabilitation project of national significance, backed by a Tier 1 miner.
- Fast process and are seeking candidates who can move quickly and start ASAP in the new year. 6month contract, ideally with January start
- Brisbane CBD hybrid model.
About the Opportunity
You will take end to end ownership of external reporting, audit readiness and the financial stewardship of long-dated rehabilitation and closure provisions in a regulated, ASX-aligned environment.
The role is hands on and delivery focused. Your mandate is to maintain absolute control over month end, statutory reporting, and audit outcomes while complex rehabilitation activity continues to evolve.
You will step into a well-defined scope with clear deliverables, working closely with senior finance leaders and analysts, and coordinating with a global parent reporting environment, without the drag of people leadership or commercial business partnering responsibilities.
Key focus areas include:
• Ownership of month end close and statutory financial statements with full tie outs, roll forwards and audit ready working papers.
• Accounting for rehabilitation and closure provisions, including discounted cash flow models and balance sheet movements driven by scope, timing, cost, inflation and discount rate changes.
• Delivery of on time draft Board and ASX reporting with disciplined, driver based variance analysis and draft ASX.
• Leading the finance side of external audit delivery and contributing directly to disclosures and the annual report.
• Supporting consolidation submissions and integration readiness within a global reporting framework.
This contract offers CV-defining work, real accountability and exposure to senior decision makers, all within a clear, contained interim scope.
About You
You are a CPA or CA qualified finance professional with external reporting operating in listed or similarly regulated environments.
You have demonstrated hands on experience delivering ASX-aligned external reporting and audit outcomes, and you are comfortable owning the numbers end to end.
You have worked in capital intensive industries such as mining, energy, utilities, infrastructure or heavy industry, where long-dated assets, rehabilitation or closure provisions materially impact the balance sheet.
You have direct experience with discounted cash flow valuation methodologies, and you can clearly explain movements in provisions driven by changes in scope, timing, cost assumptions, inflation and discount rates.
You bring strong technical accounting capability across impairment, CGUs, provisions and internal control frameworks, and you are confident producing audit ready documentation and technical papers.
You are highly organised, calm under scrutiny and delivery focused, able to operate autonomously as the senior technical finance lead.
You are available at short notice or operating in an interim or fractional capacity, and you are comfortable working in a hybrid Brisbane based environment.
