About the Opportunity:

In this newly created Chief Operating Officer role, you will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), shaping the operational foundation of a mission-driven organisation. As part of a growing Australian not-for-profit, you will play a vital role in ensuring its programs reach children and young people nationwide, transforming lives and helping them overcome the challenges of family life to achieve their full potential.

You will lead a team of permanent staff, casual employees, and volunteers across Australia, driving exceptional service delivery and program success. Working hand-in-hand with the CEO and a clinical team, you’ll innovate, design, and oversee best-practice programs informed by cutting-edge research and tailored to meet community needs.

Your ability to take strategic vision and translate it into actionable plans, policies, and operational excellence will be pivotal. You’ll tackle challenges with a problem-solving mindset, using data and evidence-based decisions to guide the organisation’s success. From refining risk management strategies to building a proactive safety culture and partnering with diverse stakeholders, your leadership will drive measurable outcomes that enhance lives.

About You:

You are an experienced operational leader with a proven track record in program delivery, project management, compliance, and risk management. With a background in SMEs, not-for-profits, or regulated industries like aged care or working with children, you excel in managing budgets to maximise the outputs and designing and implementing efficient, scalable and sustainable systems. With an entrepreneurial and solutions-focused mindset, you thrive in dynamic environments, leading disparate workforces and driving results from day one.

Your collaborative leadership style inspires cohesive teams, while your strategic mindset and data-driven approach enable you to solve complex challenges effectively. Skilled at building strong stakeholder relationships, you bring the vision and determination needed to scale operations and ensure lasting organisational impact.
