- Lead finance delivery for a world-first rehabilitation project
- Own ASX-aligned reporting and closure provision accounting
- Partner with top-tier leaders shaping a global legacy
Make your mark on a world first rehabilitation project
Here’s a rare contract where your finance craft fuels something bigger: a world‑first rehabilitation project at grand scale. You’ll help create a positive legacy by achieving world‑class, sustainable rehabilitation of former mine assets and you’ll do it while keeping external reporting sharp, accurate and on time.
The opportunity
You’ll use your CA/CPA experience to steady the ship across month end and external reporting, translate complex rehabilitation activity into clean financials (including the closure provision and discounted cash flow mechanics), and keep continuous disclosure disciplined and timely.
You’ll work closely with finance leaders and analysts, and coordinate with a global parent’s reporting team, without losing the agility of a tight, focused finance group.
Why this contract?
- World‑first, legacy project: Contribute to a globally significant mining rehabilitation program set in a pristine Australian National Park environment.
- Serious scope, supportive team: Exposure to high‑calibre leaders with a culture that values clarity, accountability and delivery.
- Balanced rhythm: Brisbane CBD hybrid (office + remote.
- Career‑shaping work: Complex technical accounting, ASX‑aligned reporting, and integration touch points that sharpen your CV.
Job role
In your first few months, you’ll get across the rhythms of the role, processes, procedures and calendars, completing the handover with the current secondee and key stakeholders so nothing is dropped.
You’ll dig into the closure provision and discounted cash‑flow mechanics, mapping how rehabilitation activity flows through to the financial statements. From there, you’ll own month‑end and the core statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) with complete tie‑outs and roll‑forwards, while supporting the external audit process and annual reporting.
As you settle, you’ll shift into a steady delivery rhythm: producing on time reporting cycles (Board/ASX as applicable) with clear, driver-based variance commentary; drafting ASX releases accurately and on time; and maintaining clean, auditable files.
You’ll help bring a well-controlled external audit to completion and contribute to disclosures and the annual report, ensuring the finance story is accurate, timely and audit ready.
What you’ll bring
- CPA/CA (or equivalent) with 5+ years’ post‑qualification experience.
- External reporting experience for an ASX‑listed or similarly regulated entity.
- Background in capital‑intensive industries (mining, utilities, infrastructure or comparable) or large‑scale industrial environments.
- Advanced understanding of cash flow valuation methodologies and their financial impacts.
- Exceptional written communication for technical memos, Board papers and disclosure notes.
- Understanding of accounting standards (including CGU/impairment testing) and basic SOX/internal controls.
- Comfortable operating in a hybrid environment (2–3 days office, remainder remote); calm, organised and deadline‑true.
