About the Opportunity:
An exciting opportunity awaits a seasoned professional to join a leading Tasmanian firm as a Payroll Officer. This dynamic role, based in Glenorchy (Hobart), offers the chance to manage the efficient and accurate processing of weekly and fortnightly payrolls. You will work closely with senior executives to drive continuous improvements in payroll processes and overall team efficiencies. This is a key position in a company that values innovative thinking and a proactive approach to operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting into the HR Manager, the Payroll Officer will be responsible for processing payrolls for approximately 80 staff, ensuring compliance with WH&S and environmental legislation, and maintaining accurate payroll documentation. This role includes the preparation and submission of ATO and superannuation payments, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and supporting the HR Manager in payroll-related matters.
About You:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced individual with a strong background in payroll management. The ideal candidate will have:
- Certificate IV in Business Administration or similar.
- High-level computer skills, including proficiency in the Microsoft suite and internal databases.
- Experience in Greentree and/or MYOB is desirable.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Proven attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build relationships and influence others.
