About the Role:
This newly created role is dedicated to driving volume growth and expanding market share in the asphalt market across NSW and ACT, with a focus on partnering with top-tier civil contractors to uncover and capitalise on strategic opportunities. As Key Account Manager, you will lead business development, client relationship management, and tender acquisition. Success in this role requires a proactive, strategic sales approach—working closely with internal sales teams and engaging both existing and prospective clients to position the company as the preferred supplier of choice.
Ideal Candidate:
You are a highly driven and adaptable sales professional with a strong background in business development and key account management. You have exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with a demonstrated ability to identify and secure new business opportunities.
Key Attributes Include:
- Strong sales experience, preferably within the asphalt or construction materials industry.
- Open to candidates from adjacent industrial sectors with proven success in business development.
- Deep commercial acumen, including an understanding of pricing, margins, and sales dynamics.
- Experience working with civil contractors is highly desirable.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills with a relationship-driven sales approach.
- A strategic mindset with the ability to identify and execute business growth opportunities.
- Resilient and adaptable, capable of navigating market challenges and driving results.
- Willingness to travel frequently within the NSW region and quarterly across the ACT region.
- An unrestricted driving licence and own transport are required.
Ideal Candidate:
- Able to relocate to Biloela.
- Proven success in managing and coaching an operational team.
- Heavy industry experience such as Oil & Gas, Mining, Utilities, manufacturing or similar.
- Operational plant experience including safety leadership.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional stakeholder engagement skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Adaptability to changing priorities and environments, with a proactive approach to learning and continuous improvement.
- Relevant qualifications such as Cert IV in Process Plant Technology or engineering degree.
- Must be able to obtain SSAN clearance.
