About the Opportunity
In the role of HSE Manager, you will be at the forefront of health, safety, and environmental management within a major rehabilitation project. Ideally based in Darwin, or available for FIFO from major capital cities, your responsibilities will be multifaceted. You’ll develop and implement comprehensive HSE strategies and plans, tailored to meet the specific challenges and dynamics of this complex program. Your role is crucial in engaging with a range of stakeholders, including team members, regulatory bodies, and the local community, particularly given the project’s location near a culturally and environmentally sensitive National Park. You will lead a culture of safety, educating and training staff on various aspects, including radiation safety due to the project’s nature, and ensuring that safety is ingrained as a core value within the team.
As a highly experienced HSE professional with knowledge gained over your many years in roles within oil, gas, or mining, you bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to this position. Your background includes a relevant degree or significant experience in the field, underpinned by a track record of success in stakeholder and regulator-facing roles. You are an expert at incident management, audits, and compliance, with a particular strength in managing interfaces back into large organisations. Your experience has equipped you with the skills to confidently present as a senior figure in technical committees, assert your expertise, and hold your ground among seasoned professionals. Ideally you will have owner operator team exposure and experience in a processing organisation such as mining etc. Based in Darwin or willing to relocate, with FIFO considered from capital cities, you are ready to take on this challenging and rewarding role, applying your extensive experience to make a significant impact in a unique project environment.
What’s on Offer
This position offers a blend of professional development and personal fulfilment. You’ll be part of an enthusiastic and high-calibre leadership team, working on a project that’s as rewarding as it is challenging. Your well-being is a priority, with access to premier health and medical programs and benefits supporting your overall well-being. For those relocating, the company provides relocation assistance and subsidised housing, making the transition smooth and comfortable. This position is more than a job; it’s a chance to positively influence a project’s culture and be part of a unique and dynamic work environment, where every day is a step towards professional growth and making a difference.
