About the Opportunity:
This newly created, customer-facing BDM reports directly to the Sales Manager and covers a significant region across Victoria, with potential expansion into Tasmania. This is a full hunting role designed to collaborate closely with Account Managers, identifying and converting new business opportunities that may have been overlooked due to time constraints. You’ll work in tandem with the major projects team to secure project opportunities, seeing you involved in tenders and working with top tier companies. Additionally, you will represent our client at industry events, strengthening their presence and expanding business networks.
About You:
- You have demonstrated Sales/Business Development success, ideally within an industrial business. Full training will be provided.
- You are a true sales hunter with initiative, autonomy, and the ability to self-manage performance.
- You have a proven track record of building and progressing relationships with a diverse range of clients, including top-tier companies.
- You exhibit a disciplined sales approach, meeting KPIs in call cycles, quotes, conversions, and price management, and effectively using CRM to drive activity.
- Ideally you have exposure to RFQs (Requests for Quotes) on major projects and/or tendering processes.
- You bring a positive and adaptable mindset, viewing challenges with a “glass half full” perspective and demonstrating the ability to pivot when necessary.
- You are a problem solver with outstanding negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- You have a relevant industrial background in sectors like building, construction, infrastructure, steel, mining, or related fields, with a technical understanding preferred.
- You hold an unrestricted driver’s license and have your own transport.
